About This Watch
This is the legendary Seiko Quartz Professional 300m, reference 7549-7010, widely known among collectors as the original Golden Tuna. Introduced in the late 1970s, it was Seiko's flagship professional diver's watch and a milestone in horological history. Its distinctive shrouded case, developed in response to feedback from professional saturation divers, revolutionized diver's watch design and remains one of the most iconic tool watches ever produced.
Launched in 1978, the 7549-7010 was the world's first quartz-powered professional dive watch rated for 300m saturation diving. It represented Seiko's answer to the demand for a more robust and reliable diver, born from a famous letter written to Seiko by a professional saturation diver. The shrouded monocoque case, L-shaped gasket, and titanium inner case were groundbreaking innovations at the time. As an early first-generation Tuna, this reference has become highly sought after by vintage Seiko collectors worldwide, and clean surviving examples are increasingly scarce.

Condition & Inspection
Condition: Good - visible signs of wear.
The watch is in good vintage condition with visible signs of wear consistent with age. The case and shroud show scratches and light marks from use. The bezel retains its insert with clear markings. The dial and hands remain in honest original condition. Please note there are scratches on the crystal, as visible in the photos. The watch is fitted on a leather strap for presentation.
The exterior has been cleaned.
Time setting and the basic operation of the fitted functions have been checked, including calendar changes and chronograph start, stop and reset where applicable.
